Village has several departments that serve the residents
of Indian Hill. These include the following:
Administration: Functions include Building
and Zoning, Finance, City Manager’s Office, Water
Works billing and Technical Services
Police: The Indian Hill Rangers provide
for the safety and welfare of the citizens of the Village
of Indian Hill through crime prevention, patrol, traffic
enforcement, criminal investigations and community relations.
Fire Department : The Village
of Indian Hill contracts with the Madeira and Indian
Hill Joint Fire District for fire and emergency medical
district operates two stations, one at the corner of
Miami and Euclid in Madeira and the other at the corner
of Shawnee Run and Drake in Indian Hill.
Public Works: There are several divisions and
maintenance responsibilities within the Public Works
department including street division, waste and recycling
collection, buildings and grounds.
Water Works: Operates and maintains a water system that
delivers an average of 2 million gallons a day with peaks
of 4 million gallons a day. In addition to providing
water to most of Indian Hill, it is also provided to
parts of Madeira, Terrace Park and Camp Dennison.
Health: The Village of Indian Hill contracts with the Hamilton County General Health District for the enforcement of most State of Ohio mandated programs related to Public Health. Additionally the Village employs household sewage disposal system inspectors to inspect and monitor such systems on an ongoing basis.
Recreation: The commission was established in 1974
and is administered by a recreation program coordinator. The
coordinator’s responsibilities include publicity,
scheduling, agency liaison, facility program sign ups
and representing the commission in public forums.
Rowe Arboretum: The arboretum, which was established
in 1925, is slightly over 9 acres planted with a wide
variety of plants for visitors to enjoy. Chris
Daeger is the full time manager of the arboretum.
